As the Texas Hill Country enters its fifth day of recovery, the weight of unimaginable loss hangs heavy. Spectrum Association Management’s team came together to bring a team of 30 from Dallas, San Antonio, Seguin, Cibolo, and Austin to the community of Kerrville on Tuesday to volunteer with local organizations.
From unloading three massive trucks of donations at Kerrville Pets Alive to organizing food pantry goods for displaced families, the Spectrum team went where help was needed most. Half of the crew spent the day helping a local USMC veteran whose home had been destroyed, clearing debris from the home and storage units and salvaging belongings. By day’s end, the team had sorted supplies at Southern Oaks Church.
“At Spectrum, our heart is to create good in every community we touch, not just the ones we manage,” said Dave Wilkinson, President of Spectrum. “Our employees receive 40 hours a year to volunteer with organizations they care about. It was inspiring to see so many use that time to jump in and help our neighbors in Kerrville.”
And the work won’t stop there. In the coming weeks, Spectrum employees will continue returning to support Kerrville as it rebuilds.
