Summer is quickly approaching, which means pool season is just around the corner! If your community is fortunate enough to have a pool, boy are you lucky! To ensure that the pool season goes smoothly, you want to make sure that residents and the community are properly prepared.

Below are ways you can get your community prepped for pool season:

Pool Inspection

Schedule an initial inspection with your pool vendor to ensure the facility passes city inspection, if required. Cities can get busy the closer it is to summer, so be sure you are not delayed in scheduling an inspection. Also, be sure any repairs are made before inspection. Barring city inspection, be sure to test emergency phone lines, test fences and gates, update pool rules that are posted, update pool hours, and inspect any pool furniture.

Watchful Eyes

Consider hiring a lifeguard, if possible. A pool that is monitored by a trained lifeguard is always safer and prepared for any emergency. If this is not possible, ensure that signage is posted indicating “No Lifeguard On Duty”.

Ready Waters

A clean pool is a happy pool! This ensures it is ready for use by residents and poses no health risks to anyone using the pool. Keep pool pumps, drains, and equipment in good working order. Also, be sure a professional properly checks the chemical levels and monitors the pool’s chemistry.

Post Pool Rules

Be sure to post your community’s rules in a place that is easily accessed and visible. These rules should include obvious risks and dangers, such as “No Running” and “No Diving”.

Pool season is a fun time for everyone in a community. By preparing the pool, you ensure that everything is in order for some summertime fun!
